Whether or not you are gong to hire an agent to sell your Portland Oregon home, you need to make sure that whoever is handling the sale has a broad-based, comprehensive marketing plan.  What should it include?  While each situaltion is different, there are some important aspects that can highly invrease your exposure to the market...

• Great pictures- Consider hiring a professional photographer so the house looks its best.
• Video!- Home buyers like seeing a video of the property because it allows them to get a feel for flow and layout better than pictures alone.
• Virtual tours- Gives a home buyer a slideshow or walk through of the property and allows you to highlight the features you want to promote
• Flyers- Not everyone lloks for houses online, so having a sign out front with full color flyers is important.

What else can be done?  Having your home on your local Multiple Listing Service is critical even if you are seling the house yourself.  This gets you in front of the agents who are representing the majority of home buyers in the area.  In addition to the MLS, websites like Craigslist and Zillow generate a lot of traffic and will increase your exposure.
