Portland Oregon Real Estate Market: The market may be slower, but Portland is holding its own nationallly.
With the start of the new year, I think we are all looking forward to some good news. While that won't happen instantly, there is some reason to be more optimistic right here in Portland Oregon. While prices in the Portland metro area are off about 10% from 1 year ago, the Case Schiller index, a composite of the 20 largest markets in the country, showed an 10% drop in price from a year ago in October. Again, while inventory is at a staggering 15 months as of November, prices have remailned more stable. This is in large part to the lower foreclosure rate in Portland, Oregon.
