Salt Lake City Christmas Trees Time to be Recycled!

Christmas trees are a beautiful tradition and thankfully there are plenty of companies in the west that farm trees for this very asthetic purpose.  But now the holidays have passed and all good things must come to an end sometime...sadly.  So put away those treasured and valued ornaments for another year and get that beautiful tree recycled.  Here is the schedule for recycling trees in the nearby neighborhoods:

Alta » Trees may be dropped off on the west side of the beige recycling trailer at 10380 E. Highway 210 through Jan. 15.

Bluffdale » Trans-Jordan Landfill, 10873 S. 7200 West, accepts and recycles trees from residents at no charge through Jan. 31. Trees will be charged a fee if they are flocked, in plastic bags or in mixed loads. Trees must be covered and secured.

Copperton » County crews will collect trees at the curb on regularly scheduled garbage days through Jan. 31.

Draper » Trees will be collected until Jan. 15 at Draper City Public Works, 14501 S. Minuteman Drive (East Frontage Road).

Herriman » County crews will collect trees at the curb on regularly scheduled garbage days through Jan. 31.

Midvale » City crews will collect trees at the curb on regularly scheduled garbage days through Jan. 9.

Murray » Trees will be collected at the following locations through Jan. 12:

Grant Park, 6150 S. Main St.

Murray City Park, 5100 S. State St. (adjacent to the Murray Park Center, enter from 330 East and Vine Street.)

Riverton » Trees will be collected at the following locations through Jan. 31:

Riverton Centennial Park, 13100 S. 2700 West.

Riverton Rodeo Park, 12800 S. 1300 West.

Monarch Park, 13550 S. Monarch Park Way.

Salt Lake City » Crews will collect trees at the curb:

Area 1 (south of 1300 South, east of State Street) from Jan. 5 to Jan. 8.

Area 2 (north of 1300 South, east of State Street) Jan. 9 to Jan. 14.

Area 3 (west of State Street) Jan. 15 to Jan. 21.

Place trees on park strip no later than 7 a.m. on the first day of your posted pickup date. Do not take trees to any city parks.

Salt Lake Valley » The Solid Waste Management Facility (landfill) at 6030 W. California Ave. (about 1400 South) accepts and recycles Christmas trees from county residents at no charge through Jan 31. Trees will be charged a fee if they are flocked, in plastic bags or in mixed loads. Trees must be covered and secured.

Sandy » Trees will be collected at the following locations through Jan 12:

Parks and Cemetery Shop, 9120 S. 700 East.

Storm Mountain Park, 11400 S. 1000 East.

Flat Iron Mesa Park, 8600 S. 1700 East (lower-west parking areas).

Highpoint Park, 7800 S. 1000 East.

Crescent Park, 11000 S. 230 East.

Buttercup Park, 10075 S. 1550 East (south parking lot).

Bell Canyon Park, 11400 S. 1700 East.

South Salt Lake » The city is providing curbside pickup for trees through Jan. 11.

South Jordan » The city is providing curbside pickup for trees Jan. 5, 6, 15 and 16. Trees must be at the curb the day before or no later than 6 a.m. on the specified date of pickup.

Trans-Jordan Landfill » The landfill, 10873 S. 7200 W., accepts and recycles trees from residents at no charge until Jan. 31. Trees will be charged a fee if they are flocked, in plastic bags or in mixed loads. Trees must be covered and secured.

Canyon Rim/White City and Millcreek » County crews will collect trees at the curb on regularly scheduled garbage days through Jan. 31.

Holladay/Cottonwood Heights and Mount Olympus Cove » County crews will collect trees at the curb on regularly scheduled garbage days through Jan. 31.

Taylorsville/Kearns/Magna & Emigration » County crews will collect trees at the curb on regularly scheduled garbage days through Jan. 31.

West Jordan » The city is providing curbside pickup from Dec. 29 through Jan. 9. No flocked trees allowed; take plastic bags off trees. Trees also will be collected at the following locations through Jan. 31:

Community pool, 8125 S. 2200 West

Soccer complex, 7900 S. 4000 West.

Constitution Park, 7000 S. 3200 West.

West Valley City » Trees will be collected at the following parks through Jan 17:

West Valley City Park, 3500 S. 4505 West.

Woodledge Park, 4310 S. 5205 West.

Westview Park, 4100 S. 6055 West.
