Dufferin County ON Real Estate Market Statistics - by Mulmur Real Estate Agent Lora Schyven, Royal LePage RCR
The Dufferin County Real Estate Market Statistics include the rural areas of Dufferin such as Mono, Mulmur, Melancthon, Amaranth in addition to Shelburne. The rural community experiences much longer days on the market than the neichbouring real estate markets of Alliston and Orangeville, and is still experiencing the buyers market of the last couple of years. As the weather improves and we see last years product sold from the market, we should see an increase in both listings and buyer demand. While the average sales price of homes in the area has declined 23% and 12% respectively (see chart below), this may be a direct result of increased sales in Shelburne, rather than the higher priced rural properties. Demand for rural properties is expected to increase as the temperature gets warmer, which should absorb a lot of the current inventory however the affect on prices remains to be seen.
