Existing home and condominium sales were up 18 percent in Salt Lake County in December as compared to the previous month, according to a recent report by the Salt Lake Board of REALTORS.  In the month of  December, 2008, there were 689 total homes and condos sold, up from 582 units sold in November, but down 13 percent compared to the 795 home sales in December 2007.

The median price of all homes and condos sold in December was $223,000, down 2.5 percent from $228,600 in November, but up 1 percent compared to $220,000 in December 2007.

As of December, Salt Lake County home/condo prices have fallen 8 percent from June 2007, when the median home/condo sold price peaked at $243,500.
