I have just found some great news for home buyers, realtors, lawyers, Local governments and others interested in quickly checking the status of a new home or a new home under construction.  Have you ever wondered if your home is really covered by HPO (Homeower Protection Office).  HPO has a section that you can view under the New Homes Registry to identify whether your home is covered by HPO or not.

...Search the registry by civic address or legal description to find out if new single detached or multi-unit homes have a policy of home warranty insurance, or whether a Licensed Residential Builder was involved in their construction. You can also find out if homes were built without home warranty insurance under an exemption, such as an Owner Builder Authorization.
Obtain valuable information for your clients, such as the name and contact number of the warranty provider, the builder's warranty number and whether an owner-built home can be legally offered for sale. Homes suspected of being illegally built, along with the status of related compliance investigations, are also included on the registry...
