From an Open Letter to Frederick News Post Subscribers:
Many are finding out that it is tough to run a business these days. We at The Frederick News-Post are no different. We rely on payments from our readers and advertising dollars from local businesses to pay our bills so we can bring you the news and information you want, expect and can trust.
Just like many of the other local businesses in Frederick, and throughout the United States, fewer dollars are coming in. As a result, we are faced with making some very tough choices. We are cutting costs where we can, and we are looking hard at our products and services so that we can continue to deliver the best possible value for you, our customers, at a cost you can afford. Rather than raise the price of our newspaper, effective Monday, April 6, we will deliver Monday information to you in a more cost-effective manner by merging it with Sunday and Tuesday until the economy recovers enough to allow us to resume the Monday publication. This was not an easy decision, and we understand fully what many businesses are facing in making their tough decisions these days.
As subscribers and readers you will receive Monday’s early news in our new “Monday Advance” section in the Sunday edition and later news in the Tuesday edition of The Frederick News-Post. You will continue to find our website www.fredericknewspost.com updated with local, timely news, information and advertising.
To our advertisers, in today's tough economy it is more important than ever to get your advertising message out to customers who are ready, willing and able to buy your products and/or services. We stand ready to help your business improve and look forward to continue serving your advertising and marketing needs in this environment with the most effective media available in the Frederick area.
We are proud of The Frederick News-Post’s heritage and the part we have played in your lives, and hope to continue to play an important role in your future. By working together, everyone can come through these tough times stronger.
Sincerely,
Myron W. Randall, Jr., Editor & Publisher, The Frederick News-Post
