Number of Home Sold vs. Sales Price What Does it Mean to You?

It’s all over the headlines today “Home Sales Are Up” what does that mean to you?

Take a look at the figures provided yesterday and today 03/24/09 and let me know what you think, and where we are headed.

Homes sold nationally in February 2009, on an annually adjusted rate over January 2009, are up 5.1% according to the National Association of Realtors®…That’s good!

Homes prices where up in February 2009 over January 2009 by 1.7% as reported today by the Federal Housing and Finance Administration...that’s good!

Homes sold in February as compared to a year ago where actually down about 5%…that’s bad.

Homes sold continue to spike in the west…that’s good for us here in CA!

Home prices nationally are predicted to continue to fall…that's bad.

The median national existing home price was down in February over last year by 15.5%...that’s bad.

February saw an unexpected jump in foreclosure filings…That’s bad.
