Before You Buy In Indianapolis, In

To prepare for your real estate purchase:

  • Check your personal credit report.  Contact a credit bureau and request for a complimentary or low cost credit report.  You may now go to: Annual Credit Report.com and get a free copy from all three credit bureau's every 12 months.

  • Save as much as possible for your down payment and closing cost.  Sacrifice short-term luxuries for long-term Home Ownership!

  • Avoid using your credit cards at ALL cost!  This is NOT the time to purchase a new car, buy a boat, buy new furniture, or  apply for credit cards.

  • If someone is donating a substanial sum of money/cash toward your purchase, deposit it in your savings or checking account months before applying for a mortgage.   Ask your attorney or accountant about gifting rules.

  • If you are a Veteran order you VA Certificate of entitlement  in preparation for applying for a VA mortgage.
