Naples Florida Foreclosure Listings - What is a REO? - Naples Foreclosure Expert Benjamin Sovacool Answers Your Question
Naples Florida Foreclosure Listings Series
Lately it seems you can't drive down the street without seeing several houses with sign riders advertising "Bank Owned", "Foreclosure" or "REO". Typically they are the ones with grass that looks like it hasn't been mowed in months and the trademark bright pink piece of paper in the window. You can't miss the sheriff's eviction sticker on the door.
Last week I was with a buyer and we passed a REO sign rider and the buyer asked me what that meant. They thought it was a special listing. Sometimes agents take industry acronyms for granted and use them in advertising. REO stands for Real Estate Owned. It's nothing more then industry lingo for a foreclosure.
