Pekin Real Estate Market-9 out of 10 Home Buyers Used A Real Estate Professional in 2011
Pekin Real Estate-The Role of Real Estate Professionals
Some would argue in the Pekin Real Estate market, that with the flood of real estate internet sites and more information than ever before available to homebuyers, that the use of real estate professionlas is on a downfall and on the way out. However a recently completed survey shows statistice quite to the contrary. In fact, virtually nine of out ten homebuyers used a real estate professional in their purchase in 2011. Yes, the internet has changed real estate. Yes there is more information available than ever before. However, the decline of the use of real estate professional is far from over.
Home buyers still rely on the expertise of real estate agents to help them navigate the housing market and help guide them through the home sale transaction. As has been the case in past home buyer and home seller surveys, the majority of home buyers purchased their home through a real estate agent or broker. That trend continued in 2011. Virtually nine out of ten buyers (89 percent) used a real estate agent in their transaction in 2011.That is the highest percentage of buyers who reported using a real estate agent in the last 10 years. Seven percent of homebuyers indicated that their purchases were made directly from the builder and four percent were directly from the previous owner.
Buyers want agents to help them find the right home to purchase. Fifty-five percent of home buyers indicated that what they wanted most from their agent was help finding the right home. Thirteen percent of buyers wanted their real estate agent to help negotiate the price, and 12 percent wanted help with the terms of sale.
Potential homebuyers also appreciated the benefits of using an agent when trying to understand the home buying transaction process. Buyers most often noted that having an agent helped them understand the process (61 percent). This was more often the case for first-time buyers (81 percent). Also, more than half of buyers reported that their real estate agents pointed out unnoticed features or faults with a property, while more than four in ten indicted that their real estate agents negotiated better sales contract terms, improved buyers’ knowledge of search areas, and/or provided a better list of service providers.
