This Saturday, May 16th, is the 2009 America's Armed Forces Kids Run and Carnival, to be held at Menriv Soccer field on the Charleston Naval Weapons Station. This event is global, so there will be over 20,000 military kids worldwide participating. The event is for children aged 4-17, and will be held from 11 am to 2 pm. All kids who participate in the Fun Run will receive t-shirts, and there will also be prizes and awards given out, too.

The carnival features a jump castle, obstacle course and sumo-suit wrestling. Concessions will sell sno cones, cotton cand as well as other treats. Admission is free, and all proceeds will benefit the Charleston Naval Weapons Station Swim Team.
