How do you pick an Apple Valley CA real estate agent to represent you?
The fact is…there isn’t much more to the average agent than the agent themselves. Most agents operate a one-person show, and they’re probably breaking their backs trying to do a good job for their clients. Most agents couldn’t really work any harder than they’re already working. We know, because we used to do it this way.
Most real estate agent’s bio’s sound something like:
· I’m number one
· I care more
· I have the most experience
· I sell more
· I’m a million dollar producer
· My goal is to provide honest dependable superior service
· One Stop Source…real estate, loans, escrow, insurance and local drug store (you might need the later before you’re done)
If a real estate agent has been in business awhile they must have achieved at least some of those things, and that’s great….but the bottom line is what’s in it for you?
1. How Much Experience is Enough?
Anything short of 75-100 closed transactions is an apprentice by real estate standards. An average agent will take 4 to 5 years to obtain this level. Approximately 200-250 closed transactions would translate at a Journeyman’s level and in excess of 500 closed transactions to meet the level of a master.
If an agent specializes in one specific market like, residential, condo/town-homes, land, multifamily or commercial they gain specific skills and market knowledge within that specialty. These industry specialties are not equally transferable experiences in that they all have unique qualities not unlike a medical specialty. You would not select a foot doctor to perform brain surgery on you, just because he is a doctor.
Let’s face it… it’s your money, your home, your life, your family and you get to choose who helps you through the mine field. Pick a novice with less than 2-3 years experience and you might get lucky but if you run into problems or leave money on the table because you didn’t have a clear understanding of your contractual position, you only have yourself to blame.
2. How does volume affect service?
The real estate business is similar to most industries in that business flows in waves and some seasonal periods are much busier than others. An average full time agent produces around 18-24 deals a year. The break down might look something like zero sales in some months and some months with 3-5 closings. The agent that fits this profile, running solo, will put in a minimum of 60 to 80 hours a week (week after week) in the busy parts of the year. It becomes questionable as to how you can obtain any kind of service when things are spread so thin. In today’s market agents that want to provide their clients with real service have specialized team members in order to maintain consistency and quality, i.e.: masters of the trade. The real estate agents that are trying to do it all by themselves are barely, if at all, able to provide a client with good service.
3. Why “The Crown Team” cares about you and your needs?
Let’s face it, we are in business and satisfied clients are the most important part of running a successful business. It’s not what “we say” but what “you say” that counts. Because of our commitment to our business and clients we typically receive referrals to friends and family members.
Our work is guaranteed. Guaranteed that no one will do more or does a better job for you or we get paid nothing. In fact, we will not take a client’s business unless we can perform for them.
