Most of the buyers for mountain homes here in Western North Carolina come from the state of Florida. After years of high temperatures and high real estate taxes, they are looking for releif. North Carolina is the first place they look. WIth moderate summer temperatures and mid winters, North Carolina and especially the Hayesville NC area is a great choice. We have Lake Chatuge which is 13 miles long and extends into Hiawassee in North Georgia. This keeps our winter temperatures slightly higher than surrounding areas and avoids the snow accumulations that other NC areas experience, and it offers great summer recreation.

The purchase of a mountain home is different than purchasing a southern Florida house. First of all we build very few if any block houses here in the mountains. We offer the opportunity to have a basement in the house,  which very few Florida houses can have due to the high water tables. Exterior designs are very different than Florida style house also. Most houses here in the mountains of North Carolina are cabin style houses.

Most vacation visitors that spend summers here rent or stay in cabins that are either lake front or mountain top type properties. Creek front properties are also sort after in high demand. These are great vacation locations but may not be your best choice for year round living. Before making a major decision to buy a home here in the Hayesville Real Estate market, you should contact a local Realtor. He will be able to give the pros and cons of mountain living.

Take the time to visit the Hayesville NC Real Eatate web page for more information about selecting a Realtor and the Western North Carolina area.
