Residential real estate in Apple Valley features spacious custom homes on minimum half-acre lots along with ranches and executive homes. Single-family home prices range from under $100,000s to $2 million and more. Over 70 percent of the town's residential dwellings are owner-occupied. Lots and land are also available for custom building in addition to new construction.

Apple Valley was incorporated as a town in 1988. The community first took shape in 1945 when an underground water reservoir was discovered by oilmen Newton T. Bass and Bud Westland. Bass and Westland pioneered Apple Valley into the High Desert's premier residential community.  During the 1950s it was the playground of movie stars. Hollywood’s cowboy king and queen Roy Rogers and Dale Evans owned a horse ranch in Apple Valley and are buried here.

Today Apple Valley has the largest medical community in the High Desert. St. Mary Regional Medical Center provides advanced levels of service in cardiology, radiology, surgery, emergency care and patient care. Along with state-of-the-art facilities such as the Apple Valley Radiology and Oncology Center, the Town of Apple Valley has emerged as a leader in advanced health care systems.

Apple Valley also boosts some of the newest shopping centers and restaurants in the High Desert with over 2 million square feet of shopping built in the last two years.
