May, 2009 vs. May, 2008
The number of active listings in Orangeville, ON increased by 31.94% in May, 2009 over the same month in 2008. New listings came on the Toronto Board at a slower pace in May, 2009 over May, 2008 with 19.82% less new listings. The number of homes sold decreased by 10 homes or 14.49%. Sellers should continue to prepare for longer stays on the market; the average days on the market increased from 24 to 46. Average sale prices were down by 10.05%.  In the surrounding rural areas, the market is still indicating a buyers market, with average prices up and the number of listings down.

The number of homes listed in Orangeville, ON, year-to-date has decreased from 476 in 2008 to 438 in 2009, which is a decrease of 7.98%. The number of homes sold decreased by 21.72%. Average sale prices are down 3.17% year over year.
