A good Real Estate Agent in Columbus and Central Ohio can help you sell your property by packaging and marketing it superbly. An expert Real Estate professional can provide sound answers to your real estate questions. When you set out to buy a home, a good real estate agent helps you by tracking appreciation potential and resale capability of the various homes available for sale in the Columbus and Central Ohio real estate market. Here are some tips for finding the best Real Estate Agent in Columbus and its wonderful surrounding communities.

Tip #1- To pick a good real estate agent in Central Ohio you can use referrals of friends and family members, but make sure they are not obligated to make the recommendation or have monetary benefits from it. Local home magazines are another good place to find good real estate professionals. However make sure the agent does not have too many listings as that is a sign of lack of focus on buyers. Agents who have many listings in your neighborhood also may be chosen as they are in contact with many buyers in your region.

Picking a Franchise agent gives you the advantage of national name recognition and a powerful national marketing campaign. Choose an agent who is a Real Estate professional possessing a license from the state to sell real estate. They have to follow code of ethics of their association. They have access to multiple listing services (MLS) that gives members entrée to more properties than non members.

Tip #2- Interviewing the real estate agent before appointing him is important as it is a case of a business transaction. Interviews of agents will help assess their personality to see if you are comfortable working with them. You can find out if the agent works full time or part time. Full time agents are more up to date with the local market. Choose a real estate agent with long years of experience. During the interview you can also find out the number of homes sold each year by the agent. You should choose an agent who is able to reply to you promptly. Caution! Don’t select an agent just because they are willing to tell you whatever it is you want to hear! Just because they may tell you they can net you the highest amount on the sale of your home doesn’t mean they will. This “bait and trap” technique gets their sign in your yard only to have your overpriced listing sit for months unsold. A good agent will share the comps in the neighborhood and will create a realistic net sheet to show you the bottom line at various sales prices.

Tip #3- Your real estate agent should be one who has many selling strategies. He should be able to spare time and explain complex terminology and calculations to you. The agent should be able to work as per your time schedule as he will fix appointments for touring houses with you. A good agent will never overprice your home. He should provide other services like referring you to an attorney and conducting real estate study. Avoid dual agencies representing both buyer and seller.
