Many of my buyer customers (people who want to buy in the Prescott, AZ area) have told me that they definitely want to buy a home here, but their retirement savings have been diminished by the falling stock values. Others say that they have had to delay their retirement, cannot sell their current residence, etc.  We have all heard the sad stories. True, times are tough all over (just ask any realtor!). Our meager IRA's have shrunk as well, so my husband and I recently started looking into investing some of our retirement funds into real estate.

WOW! The possibliities are mind-boggling! We have found out that we can rollover our current IRA's (all or part) into a new self-directed IRA, which allows us to invest in real estate (not for personal use), plus all the traditional investments for IRA's.  Have you looked around the country and seen some phenomenal prices on homes, and said, "boy, I wish I could pick up some of these properties for investment"? Well, maybe you can! I'm not an expert, so don't ask me how, but if you would like to learn more, google "self directed IRAs or Real Estate IRAs" and get the whole scoop.  Two companies I found are "Entrust" and "Guidant".
