As per recent national real estate market reviews June continued a trend, that was the Fifth month in a row, where "pending" (homes in escrow, not yet closed) real estate sales have shown an increase.  While there are still many areas where sales are sluggish or slipping the vast majority of the nation is seeing home prices stabilizing or dropping at decreased levels while at the same time the total amount of real estate sales is ratcheting up.  An Associated Press article points out "the last time there were five consecutive monthly gains was July 2003."  Lower home prices, first time home buyer tax credit and low mortgage rates are primary reasons drawing people back into the real estate market.  You can find bargains as far as real estate goes and that is an attraction in any market.
