Looking for a job? A place to settle down and buy a home?  Forget those big cities like New York and LA...unless you like traffic and crowds.  Come out to the Wild, Wild West where the unemployment rate is low and the job growth is quite respectable.   In fact three Utah cities were in the "Top 25 Places to Find a Job" based on a study by CNN and CareerBuilder.com.  This study rated metropolitan areas based on unemployment levels and job growth.

These cities were Logan, Utah placing 7th, Salt Lake City 20th and Provo, Utah placing 21st.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that while the national unemployment rate is 6.5% and hopefully not growing much more, Utah had the 4th lowest unemployment rate at 3.5% in October.  Out of 369 metropolitan cities across the country, 4 Utah metropolitan areas were in the top 27 of lowest unemployment = Logan, Utah ranked 2nd with 2.4%, Provo, Utah ranked 12th at 3%, Salt Lake City ranked 15th at 3.2% and Ogden, Utah ranked 27th at 3.6%.

Residential construction has contributed largely to the unemployment number while other industries like software development and medical continue to grow.

So now is a great time to come out to Salt Lake City, find a job and buy a home.  Go to the Salt Lake City Utah Real Estate Resource Center for more information on buying a home and living in the Greater Salt Lake City Area.
