You have undoubtedly heard that the real estate recession, pretty much across the country, appears to be bottoming out.  Let’s hope that is correct and if it is… then when can we expect the recovery to begin in the Victorville real estate market?

Predictions, scientific and wishful, seem to be pointing to late 2011 and early 2012 for the High Desert Region.  With the amount of foreclosures still on task to enter the market for sale, the amount of unemployment and the overall condition of the state of California, at best case, we will probably be looking at mid 2012 before we see any substantial improvement in prices.  Notwithstanding a double dip in the recession or any substantial disruption to the economy from nature, forces abroad or simply self inflicted.

The scope and depth of the recession we are in is largely uncharted in terms of past experiences and the road out is most likely going to be longer than most of us would desire.

With current statistics and information it is our opinion that the Victorville real estate market will remain one of the best priced markets in the state of CA setting the stage for a robust recovery when it occurs.  Even with the disenchantment of real estate as an investment we would remind you that the demand and need for land and housing will continue to increase and the supply will always be finite.

Strictly from an investment standpoint:  Where do you want to be in 30 years?  You can be a renter with no home and a landlord or a homeowner with a home of your own, free and clear of mortgage.

With interest rates as low as they are and housing prices at 10-15 year lows now may be the time to act.  Don’t wake up in a year and say “I wish I had”… by then you will have missed the gravy train.
