Last week the 24th annual Larry H. Miller Christmas Sing-Along took place at the Energy Solution Arena. This is a free event for the public where 22,000 folks sing Christmas songs accompanied by a 30 piece orchestra. This is an awesome vent that had a new twist on it this year: Mr. Miller teamed up with the National Guard to provide a live link to troops in Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan. Families and friends sang carols with their loved ones in real time. Also each guest received a free hot dog, a Coke, a free ticket to the 2009 Salt Lake Bees game, free popcorn at any Megaplex Theater and a free ticket to the 2009 NASCAR race at the Miller Motorsports Park.
Every community has people that stand out both in business and what they do for others. In Salt Lake City, Utah, Larry Miller is one of those folks. Starting in 1979 with one Toyota dealership the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies has grown to include ownership of the Utah Jazz basketball team, 40 auto dealerships, sports arena, Motorsports Park, TV and Radio stations and a number of other business ventures all successful based on this rock solid management. Larry and his wife Gail have donated millions of dollars in scholarships, community fund-raising events, local colleges and universities.
